Trump refuses to leave the stage - and celebrates with "confused" Chelsea players

Boos against Donald Trump at the Club World Cup final on Sunday. The match at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey was also a bizarre affair. Then, during the awards ceremony, the next mishap occurred: The US President simply didn't leave the stage.

But first, Chelsea FC delivered a surprisingly convincing 3-0 victory against Paris Saint-Germain, who had practically blown through the tournament as Champions League winners. After the final whistle, a scuffle broke out, during which PSG coach Luis Enrique became physically active against Chelsea goalscorer Joao Pedro. The British newspaper "The Sun" wrote: "Enrique has lost his mind!"

Then came the awards ceremony – and the next memorable Trump moment . After he and FIFA President Gianni Infantino jointly presented the trophy, the US president refused to leave the stage. He seemed to ignore Infantino's repeated requests, as video footage shows. The Chelsea players were forced to celebrate around him.

Chelsea star and double goalscorer Cole Palmer subsequently revealed at the press conference: "I was a bit confused." He said he knew Trump would be there, but he had "no idea he would still be there when we lifted the trophy."
